27th SEPTEMBER - TIM AND BILLY ON NBN NEWS
Check out this link to see the sport feature on Tim and Billy that appeared on the 6pm NBN news.
27th SEPTEMBER - NATURE VET IS MY NEW SPONSOR
I am lucky to have teamed up again with Nature Vet to be my main sponsor after a break of 4 years. I have always used their products, even for the 4 years I was no longer sponsored by them.
All of my horses are on weekly Pentosan and Joint Guard. For Billy in particular I have found tranquil to be a fantastic product as he can get quite hot. We give tranquil on the night before and the morning of dressage and find it really calms him down.
The other product I strongly believe in is Recovery paste. We give recovery straight after cross country as it re hydrates and gives them a bit of a boost prior to show jumping.
For details of these products and others go to www.naturevet.com.au
26th SEPTEMBER - WEEKEND WINNERS FROM LIMITLESS LODGE
Christian Reith rode both the winners at Rosehill that were produced from Limitless Lodge. Big Time won again for John O’Shea and Peter Horwitz in the Listed Dulcify Handicap. Renewed Vitality won for Patinack Farm over 1350m in a benchmark 85 race. Renewed Vitality was a beautiful yearling that was broken in at Limitless Lodge for Patinack Farm.
26th SEPTEMBER - PLANS FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE SEASON
I will not be competing many horses for the rest of the season as I want to put all my energies into Billy going to Adelaide CCI**** and gaining selection for next year’s Australian Olympic team in London.
Since Sydney, Billy has been having a quiet time in the paddock and will recommence work on September 29th on the aquacizer for a few days before starting under saddle again on Monday October 3rd. He will have 2 weeks work before Goulburn CIC*** on Oct 15/16. It will then be a further 2 weeks to Canberra CIC*** on Oct 29/30, and then 3 weeks to Adelaide CCI****.
I will also be running Untouchable who has returned to top form after a frustrating few months, Umunga who will upgrade to 2 star shortly and Hands Down X for Laura Wallace.
19th SEPTEMBER - OFFICIAL 2YO TRIALS AT CANTERBURY
Twelve heats were conducted at Canterbury on Monday Sept 19th for the first 2yo trials of the season. Limitless Lodge has produced many exciting youngsters for all the leading stables this year and were delighted that 3 of the 12 winners were broken in and produced at Limitless Lodge. In fact, the 2 fastest trial winners came from our farm. Kyria for trainer Grahame Begg and owner Paul Fleming was the fastest heat winner. My Shabella, also won her heat for trainer Gerald Ryan and was only .01 of a second slower. The other winner produced from the farm was a Zizou filly for trainer David Payne, Risky Blonde. We will follow these fillies with interest as they progress to the Gimcrack Stakes and will keep you up to date with more trials coming up for the early 2yos.

19th SEPTEMBER - WEEKEND WINNERS FROM LIMITLESS LODGE
Another big weekend of winners produced from the farm is a great kick start to the Spring with all the big guns about to kick off. Panapique won for trainer Peter Moody and prominent owner Stuart Ramsey of Turangga farm at Caulfield. Stuart is one of our biggest supporters and Panapique was broken in at Limitless Lodge and always pretrains on the aquacizer prior going to Peter.
Top Drop won for trainer Gerald Ryan after a great Nash Rawiller ride carrying top weight of 60.5 kg's. Top Drop is a very genuine horse who always gives his best. He was broken in and always spells and pre-trains at Limitless Lodge.
Godspeed the Inglis Easter 2010 sale topper at $1.875 million broke his maiden at Mornington for trainer Peter Moody and a prominent group of owners. It appears he will be suited as he steps up over more ground, maybe up to 2000m. Godspeed was broken in and has always pre-trained on the aquacizer at limitless Lodge.
Big Time won at Warwick Farm on Sunday for trainer John O’Shea and owner Peter Horwitz after a daring front running ride by Christian Reith. Big Time was broken in and is always pre-trained at Limitless Lodge before each preparation.
Nocturnelle won for trainer Chris Waller also at Warwick Farm on Sunday. At only her second start she showed good improvement to win from another Limitless Lodge produced horse in Combat Kitty.
18th SEPTEMBER - TIM’S NEW PURCHASES SUCCESSFUL IN ENGLAND
Straight after Melbourne International 3 Day Event I went to England on a 10 day horse shopping trip and was lucky enough to secure 2 horses to strengthen my team for next year. At this stage I intend to import them in November to start them in the next season in Australia.
Lord Limmerick has been a successful novice horse who just won his first Intermediate start on Sunday at Burnham Market. He is a 7yo, 16.2 Irish bred Sport Horse. His end of season goal will by Osberton CCI* in 10 days time.
Gorsehill Star has been a very good Intermediate horse, running 2nd at Tattersalls CCI** in May and 6th at the British Intermediate Championships at Gatcombe. He then went to Blenheim 8/9yo CIC*** and ran well in a big field. His next start and end of season goal will be Boekelo CCI*** in the first week of October.

12th SEPTEMBER - SYDNEY INTERNATIONAL 3 DAY EVENT – BILLY ELLIOT JUST MISSES
Christine Bates riding Adelaide Hill narrowly won the CCI*** from my ride, Billy Elliot. Christine did a great job and is always so tough to beat, but I can’t help but think that I threw away the title with careless mistakes. The final winning margin was 0.2. Christine finished on 49 and I finished on 49.2.
I was able to win the dressage narrowly but then collected 2.4 time faults cross country and 2 time penalties in the showjumping. As always, Billy was foot perfect. He was however quite strong cross country and I’m sure this is why I am wasting time. In the showjumping he spends a lot of time in the air, but I must push on and get over this, and not let it happen again. He has pulled up super and now heads to Adelaide CCI****. Craig Barrett finished 3rd on Sandhills Brilliare and Stuart Tinney on his new ride Pluto Mio.
The CCI** was won by Lauren Balcomb riding the fabulous Kootoomootoo who I have been teaching for a long time now. I was very proud of her after overcoming several injuries and set backs.
The CCI* was won by Will Enzinger and Wenlock Aquifer from start to finish. Emma Mason was 2nd riding the hugely talented Poker Face. I finished 4th on the ultra consistent Umunga. Umi finished on his dressage score as did Sophie riding the wonderful Mercator Du Ry who finished 6th.
Umunga will now upgrade to 2 star and Sophie will take Mercator to Adelaide CIC** with possibly 1 run at Canberra at the end of October.

5th SEPTEMBER - BURGHLEY 3 DAY EVENT – WILLIAM FOX PITT WINS AGAIN
William Fox Pitt has now won Burghley for the 6th time. Incredibly he has ridden a different horse every time and this time rode Park Lane Hawk, who was having his first try at 4 star level. An unbelievable achievement for this legend of our sport. Park Lane Hawk is a NZ TB produced originally by Matthew Grayling. The track this year was a very big old fashioned galloping track and on the whole rode well. Andrew Nicholson was 2nd on Nereo and Mary King was 3rd on Kings Temptress.
Australia had not much luck with Sam Griffiths and his horse Happy Times the best placed in 16th. Chris Burton had a fall on Holstein Park Leilani and Hamish Cargill elected to retire Sandhills Tiger.
